WHAT IS POETRY? by Lovely Damsel It is the mirror of my soul, The reflection of my feelings; The sweetest language of all, That expresses my pleasures and sufferings. It is the music of my heart, That’s coming from inside; Playing like a harp, Singing the things that I can’t hide. It is a product of my mind, Sent by angels from above; When my mood is so kind, It makes me utter the words of love. It is my friend and companion, The child of my pen and paper; The union of thought and emotion, But what it really means, I wonder.
